Students Celebrated for Six Years of Perfect Attendance
From 2020-2026, three Centralia Elementary School District students didn't miss a day of school.

How many school days are in six years? We did the math: it's 1,080 days. Now imagine showing up for every single one of them.
That is exactly what three remarkable Centralia Elementary School District students accomplished. From 2020 through 2026, Helena F. and Albert James D. of San Marino Elementary, and Nicole R. of Buena Terra Elementary participated in every scheduled day of learning.
Maintaining perfect attendance is an impressive accomplishment in any year, but these students began their journey during a period of unprecedented disruption in education. Despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition between distance learning and in person instruction, they remained committed to showing up, staying engaged, and making the most of every opportunity to learn.
Reaching this milestone was truly a team effort. Behind each student was a family helping with morning routines, transportation and all the little things that make getting to school each day possible. Their journey was also supported by the amazing teachers and staff at Buena Terra Elementary and San Marino Elementary.

To celebrate this achievement, CESD invited the three former students and their families to the August Board of Education meeting but kept the reason for their visit a surprise.
Each student was presented with a CESD Certificate of Achievement and trophy, along with special recognition certificates from City of Buena Park Mayor Connor Traut and Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva.
"We celebrate these students with such a fantastic accomplishment. This is a milestone moment to celebrate not just our students, but their families as well. Congratulations for such a unique accomplishment."
As they begin their next educational adventure at Walker Junior High, they leave behind a pretty remarkable record. They showed us that every day brings a new opportunity to learn and do something extraordinary. Albert, Helena and Nicole, congratulations on six unforgettable years of showing up and learning! Your dedication is inspiring, and your accomplishment is extraordinary.
Six years. No missed days. Three amazing students. Now that is something worth celebrating.
