Spotlight Schools is dedicated to delivering vital education reporting to help you better navigate the TK-12 public school experience. You can be a part of our mission to serve Orange County families by making a donation today.

Your contribution to Spotlight Schools ensures we can continue to produce high-quality, independent, hyperlocal journalism in Orange County.

Newsrooms have been closing across the country at an alarming rate, according to the latest State of Local News report from Northwestern University. Spotlight Schools is part of an effort to reverse that trend by rebuilding local news.

We were one of just six newsrooms selected to be part of the first cohort of the Tiny News Collective, an ambitious effort to launch sustainable newsrooms nationwide that support voices historically excluded from media and media ownership. We also received a grant from the Google News Initiative.

Now you can be a part of the movement to strengthen local news – an essential component for a functioning democracy. Your donation will sustain Spotlight Schools and help us expand our coverage of Orange County's 28 public school districts to better inform and inspire parents, students, educators, and community members.

Please consider making a donation today. Spotlight Schools is fiscally sponsored by the Tiny News Collective, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation by check, please mail it to our fiscal agent:
